Denver is widely known both to residents and visitors alike to have a vibrant art community. This is no more evident than at the new Frederic C. Hamilton building of the Denver Art Museum (left). Taking more than three years to complete, the titanium and glass building opened in October of 2006. The building is unique as it does not have a right angle in the entire building. It's simple yet futuristic look creates an unforgettable experience. If performing arts is your cup of tea, then be sure to discover a show at the world renowned Denver Performing Arts Complex. It is the second largest performing arts center in the world after New York City's Lincoln Center. The four-block, 12-acre site houses ten performance spaces and over 10,000 seats. The Denver Center for the Performing Arts brings in some of the top musicals, plays and entertainers year round. The Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Colorado's only full-time symphony, performs regularly at the Boettcher Concert Hall in the Complex. The Complex is located in the heart of downtown Denver near countless restaurants and the 16th Street Mall. It is the perfect way to enjoy a night out on the town and have your life culturally enhanced in a one-of-a-kind atmosphere.
To see your favorite band, there is no better venue than Red Rocks Amphitheatre. This open air amphitheatre is located near Morrison, Colorado, in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Red Rocks looks like it was carved directly into the side of a mountain, with panoramic views of the Denver area below. The famed concert venue holds just shy of 10,000 people with bleacher-style seating. For those who have had an opportunity to witness a concert at Red Rocks...it truly is magical.
